MINUTES OF THE NINETEENTH MEETING OF THE DERBYSHIRE CHRONIC PAIN  SUPPORT  GROUP COMMITTEE

The Nineteenth meeting of the Derbyshire Chronic Pain Support Group Committee was held on 28 October 2003, at the Guinness Trust Community Room, Sidney Street, Derby. 

Attendees: 

Mark Charity (Chairperson), Margaret Whitehurst (Membership Secretary), Ray Whitehurst (Treasurer), Janet Owen (Secretary), Derek Woodward, Sandra Cunningham, Pauline Povey,

1.       Apologies:    Naomi Memory

 Mark Charity (Chairperson) opened the meeting by welcoming, introducing and  thanking everyone who attended.  

2.       Minutes from the last meeting held on 16 September 2003, were approved and signed as a true record.

3.       Statement of Funding and Finances

      Ray stated that the opening balance for the end of September stands at £753.81.  We still have £68.99 left from the Neighbourhood Grant, which we are to use for rental of the room and telephone bills.   £100 for the purchase of laminated sheets, laminator and paper and printer costs for the advertising of the group, also £8.22 for the renewal of the Website address.   A £90.00 deposit for the Christmas Dinner is to be paid to Derby Crown by 11 November 2003, this to be put back when all money have been collected from members. The closing balance stands at £637.59.

4.       Advertising

          Mark Charity and Janet Owen attended the AGM of the Derbyshire Community Foundation on 27 October 2003, at which we made some useful contacts.  

          Members of the group took the new poster and said they would distribute it around  various places, such as Doctors Surgeries, Mobile Libraries and the  Pain Management Clinic.   Derek said that he put it in his car window when he parks his car.   Sandra to take the new poster to Naomi for her ideas.  

5.       Website

The website is to be updated.    Other organisations have requested if it was possible to be linked to our website.

6.       A.O.B.

Pain Management Courses are still being run, we need to get our posters and leaflets up on the notice board in the Pain clinic.

7.       Date of Next Meeting

It was agreed that the next meeting be held on Tuesday 25 November 2003, 10.30 a.m. at the Guinness Trust Community Room, Sidney Street, Derby.
