MINUTES OF THE FIFTEENTH MEETING OF THE

DERBYSHIRE CHRONIC PAIN SUPPORT GROUP COMMITTEE

The Fifteenth meeting of the Derbyshire Chronic Pain Support Group Committee was held on 1 April 2003, at the Guinness Trust Community Room, Sidney Street, Derby.

 Attendees:   

Mark Charity (Chairperson), Janet Owen (Secretary), Ray Whitehurst (Treasurer), Margaret Whitehurst (Membership Secretary), Jacklin Moss, Rae Ford,               Sandra Cunningham, Maomi Memmory,  Peggy Archer, Sheila Coxon, Eileen Hogg, Paul Hearne (Part-Time)

       1.    Apologies:        Valerie Perry

       Mark Charity (Chairperson) opened the meeting by welcoming, introducing and thanking everyone who attended.

2.           Minutes from the last meeting held on 14 January 2003 were approved and signed as a true record.

3.    Statement of Funding and Finances

Ray stated that we have a balance of £847.24 up to 30 March 2003.  

There is a need to apply for more grants if we do not our finances would become weak and we would be unable to support the group and its activities.

We need to clarify some points on the funding allocation from the Derbyshire Community Foundation

4.     Social Committee

We have now set the dates for the rest of the year for all our meetings.   These are to be put on the website and will be published in our next Newsletter.

Suggestions for the Speakers mornings were made as follows –

Ti Chi, Spina Bifida, Arthritis, First Aid Course, Funeral Arrangements, Acupuncture, Christmas Party at Wedgewood.

5.    Website

Mark has now moved and updated the website.    Sandra queried whether anyone looks at our website Mark said that we have a lot of hits of the site.  

6.    AGM Meeting June

The date of 24 June 2003 was set for our Annual General Meeting (AGM), this will take place at our normal meeting room at Guinness Trust Community Room, Sidney Street, Derby.

7.    Newsletter

Jacklin asked if anyone had any items to put in the newsletter, if so would they let her have them as soon as possible.

8.    A O B

We need to update our Advertising posters and ask members for statements on how it helps them with their conditions.

9.    Date of Next Meeting

It was agreed that the next meeting be held on Tuesday 13 May 2003, 10.30 a.m. at the Guinness Trust Community Room, Sidney Street, Derby.
