MINUTES OF THE THIRTEENTH MEETING OF THE
DERBYSHIRE CHRONIC PAIN SUPPORT GROUP COMMITTEE
The thirteenth meeting of the Derbyshire Chronic Pain Support Group Committee was held on 26 November 2002, at the Guinness Trust Community Room, Sidney Street, Derby.
Attendees: Mark Charity (Chairperson), Janet Owen (Secretary),
Pauline Povey, Jacklin Moss, Paul Hearne
1. Apologies: Peggy Archer, Eileen Hogg Ray Whitehurst (Treasurer) Margaret Whitehurst Sandra Cunningham, Naomi Memmory, Sheila Coxon,
Mark Charity (Chairperson) opened the meeting by welcoming, introducing and thanking everyone who attended.
2. Minutes from the last meeting held on 15 October 2002 were approved and signed as a true record, except for item 3 Membership Numbers on Committee.
3. This item to be discussed at the next committee meeting, as it was felt that not enough committee members were present to make the decision on this subject.
4. Norah Wickerson Physiotherapist/Nutritionist
Paul stated that Norah is qualified and that she is politically right. Mark said at this moment in time we are unable to help with funding for her.
5. Statement of Funding and Finances
Telephone bill for £12 line rental, £5.84 for calls and £20 for petty cash.
6. Website
The COPING website is still set up on Steve Wilson’s web space this needs to be moved. The cost of the website to Easy space for a year will be £41.88. Paul proposed that we should go ahead with this and it was seconded by all at the meeting.
7. Christmas Party
Committee agreed for Ray to give £50 to Sandra for the Christmas Party.
8. Newsletter
Jacklin said that her husband is going to help with the setting up of the Newsletter, she presented a layout of what the newsletter would look like, we all agreed it was very good. It was suggested that we ask Norah Wickerson to do an article on Fibromyalgia when we next see her.
9. A.O.B.
Steve Wilson E-mailed Mark notifying him to accept his formal resignation from the group. As a result of this there is a need to divert his Coping E-mail address to Mark, also send a letter accepting his resignation and thanking him for all the work he has done for the group.
10. Date of Next Meeting
It was agreed that the next meeting be held on Tuesday 14 January 2003, 10.30 a.m. at the Guinness Trust Community Room, Sidney Street, Derby.
